Each year, the current Seed class plans The Big Event, the largest student run day of community service on the SU Campus. Past Big Events have taken OrangeSeeds to sites in the city of Syracuse, such as the Westcott Community Center, Salvation Army, Dr. King Elementary School, Meals On Wheels, and Thorden Park. The Seeds class plans the Big Event from start to finish with guidence from the Executive Board.
In planning, Seeds learn how to contact local organizations, coordinate student volunteers, and work with the University to schedule and market the event, including issues of budget. These skills help new students learn about our campus, and, in the future, enable students to become great leaders in other organizations.
